These activities include such items as business need identification, high-level requirement definition, and cost justification. The Initiation process group phase includes clearly defined objectives, scope, purpose, and deliverables.
Planning Phase
The planning process is when the project goal and objectives are divided into several pieces of work. In the Planning phase project manager create time and cost estimates, and determine the resources required for each activity. In the planning process are included several critical areas such as communication, risk, quality, and procedures.
Execution Phase
A defined part of the work should be described in the execution phase. In this part, the Project manager must coordinate with the team members and also the other resources assigned to the project. In the execution process are included Project plan, team development, quality assurance, and information distribution.
Controlling Phase
The controlling process is to monitor the progress of the project activities and identify any deviation from the project plan.
All the requests for required changes or corrective actions are included in the project scope.
Areas in the controlling process are such as cost control, quality control, performance report, and risk control.
Closing Phase
The closing process is the part of forming acceptance of the project work. It includes sign-off, archive or documentation of the project, the release of the project team members, and reviews of the project learned.
