Before we start straight through the process we need to think about business. So what is the Business and what role the Process is included in the business?
This is a question that confuses many people.

The first part of having a business is to sell something. It can be physical goods, consulting, services, or different types of information.
Daily we can hear the word “Business” or “Businessman” which has become an essential part of the world.
To start the business you need to have some rules and policies, procedures, activities, forms, and even different types of software.
So what is the meaning of the Process in the Business?
The meaning of making things better is a set of activities that need to be identified, analyzed, and improved for better by removing bottlenecks and gaps which will increase profit, reduce costs and performance in the organization.
A business process is an activity or set of activities that will accomplish a specific organizational goal, making an organization’s workflow more effective, more efficient, and more capable of adapting to an ever-changing environment.
Every process shall be identified in the group and subgroup which consists of activity, where each activity has an input and output received or submitted from other activities in the same or different subgroups.
The goal of Business Process Management is to reduce human error, optimize, and automate the organization’s types of equipment and core operations.
Business process management is often a connection point between the management and the IT departments.
Everything we do in our daily life has a process associated with it. Whatever we do during the day it is included in the activity, which is related to each other which produces the process. In a business context, BPM is no different.
Each business activities have a group of processes that need to be managed, executed, and supported.
Logically thinking, this gives the idea that the Business includes three types of processes roles, such as:
- Management
- Operational
- Supporting
All three types of Business have a strong relationship with each other, which gives the general picture of the Business.
Management Process
Management Processes are key roles in the business. This activity of the Process includes different types of planning, coordinating, leading, controlling, and improving the process to achieve business goals.
Management Planning process
The basic step of management planning includes a roadmap. The roadmap is the top-level, easy-to-understand overview of the activities the company must accomplish to meet its overall objectives. The primary step of this key process is to identify the needs of the business to achieve a goal.
So, what is planning in the process?
Planning means setting an organization’s goals and deciding the best way to achieve them.
Planning involves identifying and selecting the best resources (financial and human) with adequate tools, that will relate to the successful completion.
Coordinating
The second part of the Management process is Coordinating. This means that the plan should be coordinated with the selected people, financial resources, and adequate tools based on structured roles and responsibilities in a good environment to achieve the best performance.
Leading
The third part of the Management process is Leading. The leading is considered the most important function in Planning activities. Direction, motivation, and communication of a group of people are considered leading. The individual who influences the behavior and attitudes of such a group of people is called the Leader.
Controlling
The fourth part of the Management process is called Controlling. In this phase, relevant authorities should control the activities, compare the results, find the standard deviation, and improve performance.
Controlling relates to the action taken which needs to be measured such as budgeting, audit inspections, health and safety inspections, records of labor hours lost, etc to identify if deviation persists and how to improve the existing situation.
Improving
All management functions mentioned above, are part of the continuous process called improving. This is called the management exercise in which the leaders use different methods to improve and redesign the process of work.
Improving type can be defined in the 3 goals, such as:
- Reducing the time of the process
- Improving quality
- Improve overall productivity
Operation Process
The operational process is the set of activities that deliver value to fulfill customer needs. Those values can be products or services depending on business activities.
Operational processes are the key processes of the business.
Supporting Process
The supporting process is a necessary part of the business. The supporting process indirectly contributes to Management and Operational processes. This type of Process does not result in the final product but it supports the Management and Operational process to achieve the goal of the business.
A process is a series of actions that are carried out in order to achieve a particular result.
What is Management?
The word “Management” traces to the French word meaning, “the art of conducting, directing,” and to the Latin word meaning, “to lead by the hand.”. In the other words, it describes the act of leading the department, sector, or even whole company through the deployment of human, financial, material, and intellectual resources to achieve the company objectives, maximizing the value of customers and the return of the investments to shareholders.
What is Business Process Management?
A business process is an activity or set of activities that will accomplish a specific organizational goal, making an organization’s workflow more effective, more efficient, and more capable of adapting to an ever-changing environment.
According to Wikipedia, “Business Process Management is a management discipline that treats business processes as assets. It presumes that organizational objectives can be achieved through the definition, engineering, control and dedication to continuous improvement of business processes.”

One of the most important departments of the company is Business Process Office.
In large corporates such as manufacturing or distribution companies with a large number of workers, the BPO department plays an important role. Its department is connected with the top management and the workers that ensure that the company is proceeding smoothly through its activities.
